Good rain during a cool December proved valuable to vineyards which then experienced two bursts of extreme heat in mid to late January 2009. Excellent ripening conditions followed this for the rest of the harvest. The opulence of our old vine Barossa Valley Shiraz was well balanced with the higher altitude Eden Valley old vine shiraz parcels, which showed great fragrance and structure.
Tasting Notes
Careful French oak barrel selection, patience and blending has created a 2009 Old Block Shiraz with lifted floral and spicy aromas and classic Old Block palate texture: a fine wine with power and poise.
